Mutton

The mutton (Ovis Aries) is a cloven mammal and a ruminant, closely related to the goat. The sort belongs to the genus Ovis, where the mouflon belongs.

Mutton are often kept for their wool, milk and meat. The sheep stomach is used in traditional dishes, from sheep intestines were made condoms and they are used sometimes to provide the strings for violins and other strings.

Mutton products have long been recognised as an ideal red meat for further processing applications due to their flavour, nutrition and cost efficiency. The versatility of mutton also makes it a popular choice in the hospitality and institutional sectors.
