Quail

The quail (Coturnix coturnix) is a bird from the family of the pheasants (Phasianidae) and the only bird of passage in the order of birds (Galliformes). Small and compact timid bird (about 17cm and 100 to 150gr) with short tail and relatively large wings.

Earth-colouful and brown striped with a white eyestrip. On the back form two longer length stripes clearly bands. The male has a darker head than the female and is slightly larger.

Flight
Outside the tie the quail flies not that much and awkward. When he is caught between the vegetation, he would put himself to the ground if he is dead, run away or not without first jumping up and only in exceptional cases he will fly away.
